Tasks

Staff member of Research Department "PAN – Perspectives on Nature" within Science Programme "Public Engagement with Science"

Research

I did my Ph.D. in History and Philosophy of Science at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität, Heidelberg (awarded 2015) under the supervision of Peter McLaughlin and David Sepkoski (Max-Planck-Institut für Wissenschaftsgeschichte). My research focuses on the history and philosophy of biology in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. I am particularly interested in the conceptual and institutional history of paleontology, in the history of virology as well as in the general history and philosophy of science. At the Museum für Naturkunde, I am working on the history of the Tendaguru expedition (https://www.naturkundemuseum.berlin/en/insights/research/berlins-brachiosaurus-object-knowledge).

For a full list of my publications and a description of my research interests, you can visit my website.
